Diversity in Art – Paint not only what you see, but paint how you feel or what you think – paint how you see your world…

Hello,

This blog is to share the writing, drawing and publishing process of six children’s books to encourage having a go at different ways of approaching art …

Cold Hands Meet Warm Heart

Sun Plus Rain Equals Rainbow

Moon’s Secret

Cloud Play

Sky Shapes

Noise of Snow

Stories of Sun trying to understand Frost’s paintings, Sun and Rain fighting for the Sky and neither giving in until Wind has had enough because all the flowers and trees are either parched to death or almost drowning…and then there is Moon who has a secret and the Stars are desperate to know what it is. Clouds tease Sun with a riddle and it’s that time of year again when Wind gets out his chart to count the number of shapes they all make. Will it really be the same as last year? And it’s wintertime. Sun hates the cold and Snow has started to fall. Is it always silent?

And now it’s your turn…how do you FEEL on a scorching day? What colours will you use to show how hot you are? Can you make weird designs like Frost? So much to share and discuss and do…

So, this is a taster of what the blog is about.

Six books are written, paintings for four books are done. Permission is needed from those artists still in copyright (70 years must have passed since their death) so that I can feature my painting inspired by one of theirs.

This is just the background, I’ll fill you in more then I’ll keep you up to date with the process.

Any comments, suggestions, encouragement will be appreciated.

Thanks!

Ruth
